A study of over 700 men has shown that not only is it safe to treat the bladder tumours and shave the prostate at the same time with a telescope, but the chance of the bladder cancer returning is actually lesser.

MRI scan of the prostate has become standard of care in patients with a raised PSA test in the absence of a urine infection before a prostate biopsy is performed.

The question now is whether a PSMA PET scan can improve diagnosis of prostate cancer when combined with a MRI scan of the prostate? The growing evidence is that it can.
